I rate the Katzen group high for skill, very low for patient consideration. it is also very clear that they try diligently to up sell the patient. It is clearly a business run like an efficient factory. I would not go back
I have been going to Katzen for about I guess 8 years. Dr. Donna Booth is my ophthalmologist and she is terrific. she makes a specialty in the treatment of Glaucoma and she has always kept me ahead of the curve in terms of new medicines and management of this condition.
This review is based on our experience with Dr Doyle, pediatric doctor. He is arrogant, full of rude jokes, and is too full of himself to admit a mistake! My child could not see in the prescription he gave, when we went back to recheck, he told us to suck it up and make my child wear the glasses because he is the surgeon and knows what he is doing. I wish Dr. Abrams was still there. She was wonderful! Parents, save yourself grief and take your kids to another pediatric eye doctor.
I would give them 5 stars if not for an inconvenience I experienced during a drop in to have a form completed. I literally had to wait an hour for something that took them less than 5 minutes to do. Really they could have stamped the form with a signature and phone number and I could have been on my way. And while I was sitting there this random lady just walked up and started asking the person that was helping me questions the prolonged my wait. The optical department is the worse when it comes to service. The fitting fees for all optical departments are ridiculous since they really do nothing. I have been wearing contacts 20 years they didn't change my brand or prescription and they mail them to my house and that costs $50 + the cost of the materials for them to place an order, usury. I know that seems like a lot and still giving them 3 stars. Other than that I saw Dr. Novey. He was very nice. My exam was fine without an excessive wait. I took my son to the pediatric eye docs there and the wait was a little ridiculous because the employees were talking about stupid stuff, but when the doctor came in he made my son feel really comfortable making jokes and making him laugh.
